We're excited to announce a collaboration with Chap & Bird, a handmade textile studio founded by Ashley, a local maker based right here on Amelia Island.
At Shop 32034, we love creating alongside makers who bring their own unique perspective and craftsmanship to the table. This collaboration felt like the perfect fit from the start, combining Ashley's love for beautiful textiles with our love for creating pieces inspired by the Amelia Island lifestyle.
Meet Chap & Bird
Chap & Bird was created by Ashley, who designs and handmakes every piece from her home studio near the beach. The brand is named after her pets, Chappy the cat and Birdie the dog, who proudly serve as her studio assistants.
The idea for Chap & Bird began after Ashley discovered beautiful hand-printed fabrics during a sailing trip through the Caribbean. After bringing them home and creating a few pillows, people quickly started asking where they could buy them. What started as a creative project grew into a collection of handmade pieces, including her now-loved mahjong bags, pillows, and other textile creations.
Each piece is made in small batches using fabrics Ashley carefully sources herself, making every Chap & Bird piece feel unique and special.
Creating the Beach Hut Bag
When we started dreaming up this collaboration, we knew we wanted to create something that felt effortless, useful, and beautifully made. Together, we landed on the idea of a small pouch that could go everywhere with you, from beach days and weekend getaways to everyday errands. The hardest part was choosing the fabric.
With so many beautiful options, we searched for hours for a pattern that felt on brand and recognizable for both Shop 32034 as well as for Chap & Bird. We came across this beach hut pattern and knew right away it was the one. The colors are perfect, the design feels fun and very Shop 32034, and it feels like something you’d want to carry with you anywhere and everywhere.

The result is the Beach Hut Bag, a handmade pouch created exclusively for Shop 32034 by Ashley.
Perfect for sunscreen, sunglasses, jewelry, makeup, or other everyday essentials, this little bag was designed to be your go-to companion for sunny days by the water and all of life's little adventures.
Why We Love This Collaboration
One of the things we love most about Chap & Bird is how excited people are about Ashley's creations. Her mahjong bags have become a favorite around Amelia Island, with new designs often selling out quickly and locals eagerly waiting to see what she makes next.
