Girls’ Day on Amelia Island: Fall Edition

Fall is a great time to slow down, get together with your favorite people, and enjoy a day on Amelia Island.

The weather starts to cool down, the island feels a little more relaxed, and there are plenty of ways to spend a Saturday together. Start with coffee, spend some time downtown, stop for lunch, enjoy something sweet, and make your way outside for a little fresh air and a beautiful sunset.

There’s no need to plan every minute. Just pick a few stops, leave some room to wander, and enjoy the day.

Here’s how we’d spend a fall day with the girls.

Stop 1: Start With a Seasonal Sip

Every good girls’ day starts with coffee.

Fall is the perfect time to try something seasonal, whether that means a pumpkin spice latte, a chai, or something new from the menu.

For a local start to the morning, stop by Mocama Coffee, Amelia Island Coffee, or Kismet Coffee. Grab your drink, find a spot to sit, and take a little time to catch up before the day gets going.

Then, when everyone has finished their first cup, it’s time to head downtown.

Stop 2: Wander, Browse & Shop Local

There’s no better way to spend a fall afternoon than walking around downtown Fernandina Beach.

Take your time along Centre Street and explore the local shops, galleries, and boutiques. There’s plenty to browse, whether you’re looking for something new to wear, a good book, something for your home, or just want to see what’s new around town.

Start at Twisted Sisters, a longtime local favorite for clothing, accessories, home goods, and more. Then wander over to The Book Loft and see what catches your eye. If you’re looking for something a little different, Hudson and Perry and The Salty Local are also worth adding to your shopping stroll.

The best part? You don’t need a shopping list. Just take your time, pop into the places that catch your eye, and see what you find.

Stop 3: Take Your Time Over Lunch

After a morning of coffee and shopping, it’s time for lunch.

Amelia Island has plenty of local spots that make it easy to settle in and stay awhile. For something a little different, grab a table at Wicked Bao. If you’re in the mood for a casual sandwich, 4th Street Deli is an easy choice. Seafood lovers can head to Timoti’s Seafood Shak, while The Patio on Ash is a great spot for a relaxed meal downtown.

Whatever you choose, order something good, sit back, and take your time. A girls’ day doesn’t need to be rushed.

Stop 4: Find Something Sweet

No day downtown is complete without a little something sweet.

Make a stop at Vintage Donuts for a freshly made treat, or pick up some fudge at Fantastic Fudge. Nana Teresa’s Bake Shop is another local favorite when you’re in the mood for something fresh from the bakery, while Cinnamon Bear Country Store is the place to browse when you want to take home a little something sweet.

You could pick just one. Or you could make a few stops. We’re not here to tell you how to spend your day.

Stop 5: Get Outside

After spending some time downtown, take advantage of the cooler weather and get outside. Head to the beach for a walk, explore Fort Clinch, take a stroll along the waterfront, or simply find a quiet place to enjoy the island for a while.

Fall on Amelia Island has its own kind of beauty. We may not have changing leaves, but we have cooler temperatures, coastal breezes, sunny afternoons, and plenty of natural beauty to enjoy.

Stop 6: Stay for Golden Hour

Before the day comes to an end, find a spot to watch the sunset. And if you’re not quite ready to call it a day, make your way somewhere for a drink. The Decantery, Duck Pinz, Mezcal, and First Love Brewing are all great options for continuing the evening.

Grab a drink, share an appetizer, and settle in for a little more conversation. Or simply find a place outside and enjoy the last bit of daylight. It’s a beautiful way to wrap up a day spent exploring the island with friends.

Stop 7: Keep the Conversation Going

Eventually, the day will come to an end, but that doesn’t mean the fun has to.

Before everyone heads home, talk about your favorite stop of the day, what you found while shopping, and where you should go next time. Because a good girls’ day is really about spending time together. It’s about discovering something new, supporting the local places you love, and making time to enjoy where you live.

Your Fall Day on Amelia Island

There’s no one right way to spend a girls’ day on Amelia Island.

Maybe yours starts with coffee and ends with a sunset. Maybe you spend hours downtown, take a long walk on the beach, or find a new restaurant to try. Maybe you make plans in advance, or simply meet up and see where the day takes you.

However you spend it, fall is a beautiful time to get together and enjoy the island at a slower pace. So call your girls, pick a day, and make some time for a little local exploring.

We’ll see you around 32034.
